LIDO ISLAND

Here is the Hotel des Bains, out of season.

A soothing Sunday morning stroll along the deserted Lido waterfront from the Hotel des Bains to Hotel Excelsior provided Phespirit with the most soul-subduing moment of his time on the lagoon.

MURANO ISLAND

The cluster of small islands that is Murano is the centre of Venetian glassmaking.

This is a mediæval canalside portico on it.

TORCELLO ISLAND

The church of Santa Fosca, dating back to 639AD, is the oldest building in Venice.

A marble seat in the grounds is claimed to have been the throne of Attila the Hun.

So Phespirit sat on it.
