Phespirit goes to France
Avignon     May 1998

Taking a week at the south of France in Spring afforded Phespirit the opportunity to visit some well kept ancient cities, see some splendid open countryside, sample some reasonable French wine, and - most importantly of all - put his feet up and catch the sun.

These goals were satisfactorily achieved in the relentless Mediterranean heat and paid for in sunburned shoulders and sorely blistered feet. Key attractions during this sojourn were the small and atmospheric city of Avignon, and the larger, Roman influenced city of Nîmes. Montpellier, with it's airport surrounded by lakes of flamingoes, was Phespirit's point of arrival and departure.
