A fair show at the top of the bill from Stephen Malkmus and the chaps, but finding themselves on a bit of a hiding to nothing in following an utterly, utterly awesome set by The Flaming Lips.

PALAIS DES BEAUX-ARTS

Phespirit's visit co-incided with a superb exhibition of Finnish Art from 1870 to 1920, featuring outstanding works by such artists as Akseli Gallen-Kallela, Eero Järnefelt, Albert Edelfelt and others.

Outside, Phespirit stands self-consciously.

DOWN IN THE SUBWAY

The French do like their decorative arts.

In the République métro station it is "The Muses" by Debeve that assail the eye.
