It is said that the only things certain in life are death and taxes. In New York, Phespirit was wary of encounters with both.

Happily, Phespirit did not experience murder or mugging down on the city's mean streets. The only threatening moment came when he ventured into the proximity of a cheerless young NYPD thug.

Taxes, on the other hand, could not be avoided. Phespirit thought he had set aside adequate funds for his hotel room, so it came as something of a shock to find his final bill had been hugely inflated by countless taxes. The robbing bastards!

Still, if it helps clean-up the crime it must be good .....
