JEBEL UM ISHRIN IN WADI RUM

T.E. Lawrence (of Arabia) penned his most colourful prose when describing Wadi Rum in his epic The Seven Pillars of Wisdom.

Looming large beyond the red sands is the mountain peak of Jebel Um Ishrin, as seen from the entrance to the Jebel Khazali siq.

And did Moses' feet, in ancient times, walk upon Jordan's Mount Nebo ..... ?

If so, this was the place.

SUNSET OVER THE DEAD SEA

This is what Moses would have seen as he stood at the top of Mount Nebo and peered across the Dead Sea to the promised land.

However, more likely for a man of 120, he'd have seen no further than the insides of his own cataracts, so nuts to Deuteronomy.
