Japan controlled the Death Railway project; Thailand was the scene; prisoners from the other four countries built the railway and its infamous bridges. This is their museum.

THE BRIDGE ON THE RIVER KWAI

A far cry from the original structure built by slaving prisoners of war, this is the present bridge which crosses the River Kwai Yai at Kanchanaburi, bearing its railway of death.

Still keeping spirits high, Tony Hancock in 'The Lift':

ON A DEATH RAILWAY TRAIN

From the Wang Po viaduct - a 300m trestle bridge that arcs around the face of a cliff on the way to Nam Tok - this is the view of the River Kwai Noi.

NOTE: The rivers Kwai Noi and Kwai Yai - with its bridge - converge to form the Mae Klong.
