Phespirit goes to Finland

..... and between them both is the Tsarina's Stone, Helsinki's oldest monument (1835), with a golden eagle on the top.

DEMOCRACY IN THE RAW

This is the central Session Hall in Finland's Parliament House with its sculpture series, "Work and the Future" by Wäinö Aaltonen.

Four naked men facing forward are "Work"; one naked woman faces the wall and holds a small child that is "the Future".

Does this constitute equal representation?

THE SUBMARINE VESIKKO

Vesikko stands on Susisaari island, part of the Suomenlinna 'sea fortress' archipelago, fifteen minutes from Helsinki on a ferry that crunches through ice packed waters.

Phespirit was startled by a hare that bolted from under the U-boat as he approached it.

Hares have no business under U-boats.
