The oxidised copper cupolas which cap the twin towers of the Frauenkirche are not, as they are often described, 'onion domes'.
Their design was modelled on the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem, which in turn took a lead from late Byzantine architecture .....

It is not often one sees a hefty, voluptuous, Rubenesque gymnast in an Olympic arena.
Here's one, though. Big and bronze.
In the right background is the Olympiaturm (Olympic Tower), in which Phespirit rushed up an ear-popping 185m at 7m/s.

Phespirit standing on Marienbrücke (Queen Mary's Bridge) in front of the lavish Schloss Neuschwanstein (King Ludwig II's Castle).
This unfinished Bavarian royal fantasy, built between 1869-1886, provided a template for Walt Disney's Cinderella Castle.
