The borders of three nations divide Lake Constance:

• Germany has most of the north;
• Swizterland has most of the south;
• Austria has a little bit at the east end.

Lindau is German, though probably only marginally within German waters. It could just as easily belong to Austria or Switzerland. Or it might even have been an independent nation in its own right.

If Liechtenstein can be a nation, why not Lindau?
