Phespirit goes to Austria
St Anton am Arlberg     July 2004

KAUNERTAL SKI SLOPE

Phespirit will not ski. His weak spindly legs (36" inside measurement) appear to be just right for instant snapping on a ski slope.

But if he abandoned all common sense and had an irrational urge to ski not too far from St Anton in July, Kauntertal is the place.

Kaunertal, Austria: Kaunertal Ski Slope.

LANDECK CASTLE

This is safer ground for Phespirit - a middle ages castle, of middling size, in the middle of a middle European town.

Landeck, Austria: Landeck Castle.

INNSBRUCK GOLDENES DACHL

The Golden Roof is the best known symbol of Innsbruck. Emperor Maximilian I ordered its construction some time around the year 1500. The 2,657 radiant fire-gilt copper tiles are what make it - and keep it - special.

This is a view of it from the City Tower.

Innsbruck, Austria: Innsbruck Goldenes Dachl.
