VOLCANO IN A VOLCANO

The mountain peak in this photo is Gunung Batur - clearly a volcano, and no mistake.

Not so obvious is the fact that both Gunung Batar and the adjacent lake of Danau Batur sit inside an even larger caldera crater.

Best not be around when that one goes off.

STRIP FARMING

The landscape of Bali is dominated by lush valleys of terraced rice fields.

Both functional and beautiful.

MONKEY TROUBLE

Multitudes of macaques run riot around the Alas Kedaton monkey forest.
