Phespirit goes to Serbia and Montenegro

HIGH AND BLOWN

Phespirit perches on a rugged escarpment in the Biogradska Gora National Park.

Whilst the scenery is lush and magnificent, Phespirit is cold and will soon be sheltering from hail and rain.

WOOD AND BONE

Cetinje Monastery is a repository for:

• fragments of the True Cross;
• the right hand of John the Baptist.

Pretty much every monastic establishment in Europe has a small packet of True Cross scratchings but to be able to boast a lump of John the Baptist is a little bit special.

TIME AND STONE

The people of Podgorica endured sustained bombing that devastated the old city during the second world war.

Today, they endure the grim omnipresence of lifeless concrete edifaces.

This clock tower was the only aged-looking thing that Phespirit managed to find.
