Phespirit goes to Bulgaria

NAMED IN HONOUR: BLAGOEVGRAD Dimitar Blagoev (1856-1924) Bulgarian Marxist political leader. This is the history museum of Blagoevgrad, situated in the Varosha quarter on the east side of town. It is an excellent museum, and offers great value with an entrance fee of just 2lv (70p).
NAMED IN HONOUR: SANDANSKI Yane Ivanov Sandanski (1872-1915) Bulgarian Macedonian revolutionary. Ulitsa Makedonia is the boulevard that runs through the heart of Sandanski. It is leafy and pleasant.
NAMED IN HONOUR: VELINGRAD Vela Peeva (1922-1944) Bulgarian partisan heroine. Velingrad is renowned for its hot spas. The salubrious al fresco public baths seen here are located in the Kamenitsa quarter. Time did not permit Phespirit to partake.
