Phespirit goes to Cambodia

MURKY RIVER

Siem Reap lies deep within Cambodia's hot interior, so a river running through its centre ought to be a sweet and refreshing thing.

Alas, it is mucky greeny-brown and has an unpleasant oily sheen.

MIGHTY LAKE

This is the floating village of Chong Khneas near the northern shore of Tonle Sap lake.

It's not as picturesque as it sounds.

MORNING LIGHT

Early in the morning of his last day in Siem Reap, Phespirit tuk-tuk'd back to Angkor to ascend Phnom Bakheng.

Here it is, with not another tourist in sight.
