Phespirit goes to San Marino

FIRST TOWER - THE GUAITA

The three towers that stand on the northern ridge of Mount Titano have become icons of San Marino.

This is the Guaita, as seen from the Cesta, with Borgo Maggiore down below.

SECOND TOWER - THE CESTA

Undulating footpaths connect these towers.

This is the sturdy stone footpath that leads from the first to the second tower.

A rougher, unmade path leads to the third.

THIRD TOWER - THE MONTALE

Whilst the first two towers are fully open for visiting, the third remains permanently shut with no way of accessing its upper levels.

Phespirit could only loiter around outside.
