This mighty housing complex faces directly onto Minsk's central railway station.
It was Phespirit's first sight of the city.

Minsk is peppered with bronzes of political, historical, cultural and mythological figures. It was no surprise therefore, to find Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov looming large among them.
Here he stands, in familiar posture, outside the House of Government.

Phespirit poses outside the First Congress of the Russian Social-Democratic Workers' Party Museum.
Founded in 1923, it was the home of Pyotr Rumyantsev, who hosted the first congress in 1898. The building was obliterated during the war, but reconstructed in 1948. Many a communist leader has posed on this spot.
