LOMBARD STREET Many a night on the town has finished with Phespirit rolling off the Central line at Bank and then weaving down this narrow alley to Fenchurch Street Station for the Cinderella train home. It's like a Saturday tradition. The golden grasshopper is his way marker.
Location: exit 6 out of Bank tube.
STEVE'S SOUNDS Always, this is the first place that Phespirit visits when trawling round the record shops of London. It's on the edge of Chinatown. They sell old, new and obscure stuff, rarely for more than a tenner a CD. Top value.
Location: in Newport Court - take the second left turn off Charing Cross Road from Leicester Square tube.
THE ASTORIA THEATRE Phespirit saw The Blue Aeroplanes playing here in March 1990 and has been returning on-and-off ever since. It's a worthy venue. Equally commendable is The Mean Fiddler (née The LA2) down in the basement.
